One-Day Raku Firing Workshop — Hamilton<br>Saturday 10 October 2026 | 9:30am–4pm<br>HIRL — Hamilton Institute of Rural Learning<br>Raku is a fast and expressive firing process in which red-hot ceramic works are removed from the kiln and placed into combustible materials. The interaction of heat, flame, smoke and reduction creates dramatic lustres, crackling and surface effects that cannot be entirely planned or repeated. This one-day workshop is suitable for ceramic artists, students and makers who have their own bisque-fired work and would like to experience the Raku process. No previous Raku-firing experience is required. We’ll complete a series of glaze firings and one Naked Raku firing, with all glazes, firing materials, safety equipment and guidance included. <br><br>Please Email attached PDF before purchasing!<br><br><br>
