Forms That Teach Us | Advanced Pottery Course St Kilda

Eight-week studio units exploring one ceramic form in depth. OVERVIEW Forms That Teach Us focuses on a single form over eight weeks, allowing time to develop technique through repetition, observation, and refinement. Rather than moving quickly between projects, each unit encourages a deeper understanding of form and process. The series can be completed independently or alongside the Ceramic Journey Series. CURRENT BOWLS Develop bowls ranging from functional tableware through to larger serving and centrepiece forms while exploring proportion, scale, surface treatment, and glaze response. IN THE STUDIO Weekly demonstrations Focused technical development Individual feedback Surface exploration Glaze testing Details DURATIONS: 8 weeks PREREQUISITE: Foundation wheel throwing experience COST: Price includes clay, studio glazes, and test firings. Completed work: $19 per kg (includes bisque and glaze firing). ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Future units exploring additional ceramic forms will be released throughout the year.

Ceramic Mentorship Program | St Kilda Melbourne

An ongoing studio program for makers developing an independent ceramics practice. OVERVIEW Ceramic Mentorship is designed for makers ready to move beyond structured classes and begin developing their own direction in clay. Participants work on self-directed projects while receiving ongoing technical guidance, demonstrations, and individual feedback. Each term introduces an area of focus while allowing plenty of room for personal exploration and independent making. IN THE STUDIO Independent project development Individual mentoring Technical demonstrations Surface exploration Discussion around process and direction DETAILS Monday 9:30am–4:30pm Full Day Wednesday 9:30am–12:30pm Half Day COST Half Day - 980 Full Day - 1795 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Clay is included. Bisque and glaze firings are charged separately. Places are intentionally limited to provide meaningful individual support.

Ceramic Journey Series | Ongoing Pottery Course St Kilda Melbourne

A structured pathway through the technical and creative foundations of ceramics. OVERVIEW The Ceramic Journey Series is a collection of stand-alone eight-week courses that explore different areas of ceramics practice. Together they provide a broad foundation across wheel throwing, handbuilding, glazing, alternative firing, and exhibition development. Join a single course or continue through the full series as your practice develops. COURSE SERIES Course 1 Throwing: Tableware Design & Glaze Technology Course 2 Handbuilding: Earthenware Collection & Glaze Technology Course 3 Exploring Ceramics: Alternative Firing Methods (Raku) Course 4 Art & Utility: Throwing, Handbuilding & Portfolio Development Course 5 Portfolio Development & Exhibition DETAILS DURATION: 8 weeks Schedule: One full day each week 9:30am–4:30pm Cost $1,795 per person ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Participants receive access to a members-only learning portal with additional resources and studio support.
