The Cup

Explore the everyday cup through four weeks of focused wheel throwing, experimentation and individual guidance.

Across four 3.5-hour sessions, you’ll develop a small family of cups while exploring shape, proportion, uniformity, handles and surface finishes. We’ll consider how your choice of clay body, the weight of a cup, the feel of its rim and the placement of its handle influence both its appearance and use.

Through repetition and refinement, you’ll build consistency in your throwing while leaving room for your own ideas and expression. Guidance is tailored to your experience and interests within a small, supportive group.

Suitable for people who have completed a beginner wheel-throwing course and would like to develop their skills further.

Cost: $490 for four 3.5-hour sessions.

Clay and glaze are included. Firing is charged separately at $19 per kilogram, covering both bisque and glaze firings. Finished pieces will be available for collection after the final firing.
