One-Day Raku Firing Workshop — Hamilton

Join ceramic artist and teacher Belinda Nailon for a hands-on day exploring the exciting and unpredictable process of Raku firing.
You’ll glaze and fire your own bisque-fired ceramic works using a selection of Raku lustre glazes. Across the day, we’ll complete a series of traditional Raku glaze firings along with one Naked Raku firing, exploring the contrasting effects of flame, smoke and reduction.
Raku is immediate, collaborative and full of surprise. Each piece carries the unique imprint of the firing process, creating surfaces that cannot be entirely planned or repeated.
