Swirl Cup — Large

Wheel-thrown using two tones of clay blended together in motion, creating soft flowing bands and subtle variations unique to each piece. Gentle thumb dents are worked into the form, allowing the cup to sit naturally and comfortably in the hand.<br>Finished with a clear matte glaze on the exterior and a warm speckled glaze within, the surface quietly highlights the movement of the clay and the tactile nature of the making process.<br>Designed for everyday rituals, from morning coffee to evening tea.<br><br>- Each cup is sold individually.<br>- Handmade high mid-fire<br>- Wheel-thrown using blended clay bodies<br>- Clear matte exterior glaze with speckled interior glaze<br>- Thumb-detailed for a comfortable hold<br>- Food safe<br>- Dishwasher safe, though handwashing is recommended for longevity<br>- Slight variations in form and pattern are part of the handmade process<br><br>Made by hand at Return to Centre Ceramics Studio, Melbourne.

Private Session (2 People)

Saturday 30th May<br>1 pm - 3 pm<br>Enjoy a personalised wheel-throwing session with ceramic artist Belinda Nailon. These private sessions focus on developing technique, refining form, and building confidence at the wheel. Suitable for beginners through to developing makers, each session is tailored to meet your/groups needs in a calm and supportive environment.<br>Session details:<br>• 2hrs<br>• $125 pp<br>• Clay included<br>• One finished piece person included (trimmed, bisque and glaze fired) <br>Notes <br>Cut fingernails and wear suitable clothing (I do provide aprons, but it will get messy!)<br> Non-refundable, but can transfer to a different to a date within 48hrs notice period.

8 Week Course Throwing Course Sat 9.30 - 11.30 Starting 16th of May

This 8-week mixed ability course is designed for those continuing their practice or just starting out.<br>Working across wheel throwing and hand-building, the focus is on building core skills while refining form, technique, and material understanding.<br>Sessions are guided by a structured weekly framework, with demonstrations and exercises to support skill development. Alongside this, there is space to respond to individual interests and directions as they emerge — particularly for those continuing their practice over time.<br>This allows newer participants to build strong foundations, while more experienced students can begin to work with greater independence within the same session.<br><br>W1. 4 Week Throwing Course Starting Thursday 5th 2.30 - 4.30

Location: Mirka Lane<br>This 4-week Beginner Wheel course is designed for a small group of four and introduces the foundations of wheel-throwing through the full ceramic journey—from raw clay to finished forms.<br>Students learn essential techniques including centring, opening, pulling up walls, trimming, and glazing, while creating a series of small functional pieces such as bowls and cups.<br>At the core of the course is an emphasis on process and presence—developing a conversation with the clay, tuning into the senses, and experiencing the grounding, meditative nature of making. Open Studio Access 3-4 hrs

Choose either wheel, hand-buidling/glazing from the drop down menu for focused, uninterrupted 3-4-hour session for experienced makers to develop projects, practice throwing, or experiment independently.
