4 Week Throwing Course Starting Thursday 5th 2.30 - 4.30

Location: Mirka Lane This 4-week Beginner Wheel course is designed for a small group of four and introduces the foundations of wheel-throwing through the full ceramic journey—from raw clay to finished forms. Students learn essential techniques including centring, opening, pulling up walls, trimming, and glazing, while creating a series of small functional pieces such as bowls and cups. At the core of the course is an emphasis on process and presence—developing a conversation with the clay, tuning into the senses, and experiencing the grounding, meditative nature of making. While technical skills and finished works are achieved, it is the journey with the material that shapes the experience. 8 Week Throwing Course Starting Saturday 7th of March

1–3 Mirka Lane, St Kilda Tutor: Belinda Nailon This 8-week intermediate course is designed for a continuing private group with prior ceramics experience. The focus is on supporting each participant’s individual making goals, while continuing to refine form, technique, and material understanding. Building on previous work together, the course provides guided instruction within a small group setting, allowing space for deeper exploration, technical development, and focused support. Open Studio Access 3-4 hrs 10 - 2 p,

Choose either wheel, hand-buidling/glazing from the drop down menu for focused, uninterrupted 3-4-hour session for experienced makers to develop projects, practice throwing, or experiment independently. These sessions are unguided and designed for students who already have experience, for first time attendence please contact me to discuss. Included 3-4 hours studio time (wheels, general equipment) Additional costs: Clay: $25 per bag or $3 per kg Bisque firing: $8 per kg Mid-fire glazing & firing: $11 per kg Studio glaze $5
